Considerate Group: delivering tools for the good of our planet, our clients and ourselves

Here at Considerate Group, the Environment is at the centre of everything that we do. This is exhibited in the numerous different workshops our team has given to hospitality stakeholders, in the sustainability strategies and frameworks we develop for hotel portfolios, and in our commitment to becoming net zero by the end of 2022.

We have quantifiable evidence to back up our words. Through the use of our data management platform Con-Serve™, and with the assistance of our sustainability analysts, hospitality sites have saved over three million tonnes of CO2 since 2015. In an era where greenwashing and misinformation is rife, it is vital to have data to support statements and, equally importantly, to influence decision-making. After all, you can’t reduce what you do not measure.

We believe that the requirement to ensure the prioritisation of the planet has never been more important, especially given the Working Group II contribution to the IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report which was released on the 28th February 2022. This is why we continue to do as much as we can to guide the hospitality industry, through the publication of our blog and the attendance, virtually or in-person, through moderation or presenting, of our management team in key hospitality conferences and conventions (recently ITB* and YHS) to ensure the Hospitality and Tourism industry continues to maintain its focus on sustainability.

Finally, as we always advise our clients, it is important to get your own house in order before presenting as a leader to others. As a (growing!) start-up consultancy business, our environmental impact pales in comparison to many of our clients’ operations, but it was vital for transparency and our commitment to becoming net zero to compile our carbon inventory. True to this, we published our first carbon report in 2021, which we have used as a base for looking at carbon reduction within our operations. We will re-assess our efforts when we publish our latest carbon report later this year.
