Hotel Insights Forum 2018, held on September 11th, celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. Considerate Hoteliers attended the event and followed as some very informative presentations and content-rich panel sessions took place throughout the day. Hosted by BVA BDRC, an award-winning international consumer insight consultancy, the event was truly insightful. Participants gained valuable knowledge about consumer trends for the hospitality sector and were provided with the findings of innovative research that is a major asset for any hotelier to have.
The presentations and panel discussions of the day covered a wide range of subjects concerning the hospitality industry. Some highlights included the presentation from Joe Stather at CBRE, Trends and Spends, which updated the audience on the status of transactions in the UK hotel portfolio. Also, Jon Young from BVA BDRC provided the audience with very useful information on how Britain as a brand is perceived from international travellers. Richard Bordenave from BVA, presented the pioneering behavioural-economics based Nudge services the company offers. Their strategy enables businesses to implement initiatives and projects in a non-intrusive way. The day concluded with a very practical presentation from Steve Lowy from Anglo Educational Services, who shared experiential advice on how to run a successful business within the sector, whilst ensuring the retention of talent.
The Hotel Insights Forum is an event that should be on every hotelier’s calendar, and one which leaves attendees with a lot of information to digest and incorporate in business practices. Understanding the current situation of the hospitality industry, as well as being provided with the tools and strategies of some of the most innovative companies in the market, is an unmissable opportunity. We look forward to the next event in 2019 – keep an eye out for the exact dates!
