Senior Manager, Sustainability
As our client base continues to grow, Considerate Group is looking for an experienced Senior Manager for our sustainability consultancy business, to help shape and manage the growth of the business and our team.
Reporting to the COO, this role will support the management and high-quality delivery of Considerate’s products, services, and strategic projects in the hospitality and tourism sectors across multiple European and international jurisdictions.
In addition to providing leadership for our consultancy offering, coordinating the activities of Considerate Group’s team and providing quality assurance, the role will require the scoping and oversight of consultancy projects, including the development and implementation of client ESG strategies. Direct reports will include Managers and other team members.
Key to the role will be an ability to develop relationships quickly and easily both internally and externally, demonstrating maturity and calmness when handling clients and delivering challenging projects.

Responsibilities
Leadership, coordination and delivery of consultancy projects
- Take a leading role in the oversight, coordination, and delivery of a collection of advisory projects which may range in scope from environmental, resource consumption data analysis, and compiling carbon reports to delivering workshops or writing ESG policies for individual clients.
- Provide support to the scoping of strategic projects and solutions for clients
- Timely delivery and oversight of professional, high-quality output from the team into client work packages
- Quality-assurance of work-stream outputs
Delivery of engaging webinars and workshops
- Design and deliver virtual webinars as well as face to face workshops
- Actively promote and represent Considerate Group at industry events
Relationship building
- Develop and maintain client relationships
- Ability to negotiate contracts with clients
- Support colleagues at all levels to ensure effective client/project delivery
- Matrix management of team members to ensure smooth project delivery
- Line management of Managers and junior team members
Innovation
- Keep abreast of sustainability and hospitality landscape, including scientific and industry developments (as well as political, legislative, market and voluntary market developments)
- Deliver entrepreneurial advice/product development activities to further develop Considerate’s offering
Business Development
- Will receive a revenue target to support proposals, contract renewals, upsell and cross-selling
Requirements
Required experience & interests
- At least five years of work-based experience in sustainability, either as a consultant or in-house corporate sustainability professional
- Technical skills to include one or more of the following:
- Climate change
- Supply chain
- Smart buildings
- Energy efficiency
- Regulatory frameworks (EU taxonomy, GRESB, UN Global Compact, ..)
- Extensive experience in project and people management and/or supervision
- Experienced in business development
- Strong knowledge of legal, regulatory and market developments
- Passionate about sustainability
Essential skills
- Fluent professional written and spoken English
- Highly organised and pro-active project management skills, with an ability to work to tight deadlines
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms
- Strong presentation and workshop delivery skills; able to present ideas in a proficient manner suited to different settings and a variety of audiences
- Excellent attention to detail; confident quality assuring own and others’ work
- Adaptable with ability to learn and quickly understand new concepts outside area of expertise
- Highly customer service orientated with strong business/commercial acumen
- Self-driven and reliable
Desirable skills and experience
- Fluent in one of the following languages: Arabic, French, German, Italian, Spanish
- Experience in conducting broader ESG, CSR or sustainability audits
- Understanding of technological/operational interventions designed to meet carbon reduction strategies
- Experience in BREEAM or LEED certification
- Direct experience working in hospitality operations and/or management
